Change we can decieve in

I think a lot of people put their faith in the Man to change the course of their lives.   And, promises were made.  There were reassurances that their Day had Come.  Yes, hidden in all that smooth talking their Day had Come.  Had come to this:  disappointment, disillusion, and now, disgust.  Too many broken promises lead to..  a broken People.   Where do a broken People turn their anger?   They turn their anger on each other.   [It is why that Light, in the person of Jesus, came to us with these wise words Do not put your trust in Man.  Man will always disappoint when it comes to making promises.  There is only One who keeps His promises.]

Some wonder why our president has fallen out of favor with so many of his followers.  I wonder why so  many more have not.   His broken promises have caused a world of hurt.   A great man, such as the president believes he is, would have put those who stole our money, pensions and property, in prison.  Who has gone to prison? Where is the accountability for such irresponsibility with the People’s money?  Are these privileged men worthy of the public trust?  A great man, such as our president believes he is, would have kept his promise to close Gitmo, to immediately stop the torture and cruel treatment of those incarcerated.  Decent Americans do not sanction torture. How can a self-proclaimed decent man, as the president professes to be, sanction such cruelty to a human being – however cruel and devoid of civility the enemy?   Because such men are not decent.  Both the tortured enemy and the torturer share the same lack of decency.

I think when enough indecent men have a foothold on every aspect of everyone’s lives, they set into motion dishonesty, distrust and suspicion of intent in otherwise decent men.  The indecent man seems without concern for the under-dog or the not-so-privileged fellowman, thinking only of them as his own personal, disposable commodity.   What kind of Man, as a nation, are we as a whole?

I think any president of these United States does not know everything that is done in his name.   The president delegates so many responsibilities to his aides and legal advisors who may not share the president’s stand on some issues and they proceed to act towards a different end, regardless.  In any administration there is what is called a “rogue element” that works against the best interests of the president, his administration and the People’s will.  It’s a fact of life.  It’s We the People who are responsible for demanding accountability for wrongdoing; we all know how quickly the hand of law would come down on the common man for the same infraction.  I think it’s time for Americans to start a dialogue on the need for ethical, honest, noble men to hold high office.  To serve as models of civility and morality for all its people to strive toward.  In other words, put rather crudely, and only to make a point: It’s the Unethical among us, Stupid!

Hope springs eternal in the human breast; Man never Is, but always To be blest: The soul, uneasy and confin'd from home, Rests and expatiates in a life to come. --Alexander Pope, 1733

A place for me to appeal to others to claim the power of personal responsibility & principles to change ourselves for the better. If we do this, we can assure a friendlier, more prosperous, and free form of living to our children and our children's children. We alone can bring about peace, freedom, and prosperity to our world. We don't need a band of robber barons to help us lead our lives. We can help each other restore our country to its former respected place in the eyes of the world according to what's fair and just. Let us pass on, by word of mouth, the need for civility, respect, and reverence for all living things.

Things That Matter

"This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown.. re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency." --Walt Whitman

Think on this

Today’s real heroes are the truth tellers, truth seekers, the truthful.

God Sees us as we Can Be, but Loves us as We Are.

"A keen sense of humor helps us to overlook the unbecoming, understand the unconventional, tolerate the unpleasant, overcome the unexpected, and outlast the unbearable." --Billy Graham
